It's run by Andrew Ward, an Emmy-nominated film and TV producer with 15+ years of production experience across live television, concert films, documentaries and scripted/unscripted series on both sides of the Atlantic. The Production Shelf exists because after years of producing, one frustration kept coming up: there's no single trusted place to find the right tools, templates, assets and services for the realities of modern production.
Meet the founder
Andrew Ward — Founder
Andrew is an Emmy-nominated producer and Senior Vice President at 10 Lives Studios, specialising in live television, concert films, and documentary projects with global artists. Over 15+ years he has overseen multimillion-dollar productions from London to Los Angeles, including tours and concert films for major recording artists, reality television for network broadcasters, and long-running awards formats including the American Reality Television Awards — winner of eight Telly Awards. He was Emmy-nominated for The Hall of Fame Knocks: Class of 2026.
The Production Shelf is Andrew's resource for the working producer community — a place to share the tools, templates and services he and his teams actually use, along with curated recommendations across gear, software, assets and education.

What we cover
We publish honest gear reviews, software comparisons, and in-depth guides on the platforms producers rely on every day — editing software, stock libraries, music and SFX, post-production tooling, production management platforms, and education. Alongside the editorial, we build and sell our own producer-made templates: pitch decks, budget spreadsheets, call sheets, risk assessments, contract packs, and colour LUTs graded from real production footage.
Who it's for
Independent filmmakers. Documentary and unscripted TV producers. Commercial and branded-content producers. Production coordinators and line producers. Anyone who has ever wasted a day searching for the right spreadsheet template or wondered which stock music library is actually worth the subscription.
How we make money
The Production Shelf earns revenue two ways: through affiliate partnerships with tools and services we genuinely use and recommend, and through direct sales of our own digital products. We never recommend a product we wouldn't use ourselves. Full details on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
