Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 19 April 2026

The Production Shelf is an independent publication that earns revenue through affiliate partnerships and direct product sales. In the spirit of transparency, and in compliance with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidelines, we want to be fully open about how we make money.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a tracked URL that tells the retailer we referred you. If you click an affiliate link on The Production Shelf and then make a purchase, we may earn a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be without the link — commissions come out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

Which programs we participate in

The Production Shelf is a participant in affiliate programs including, but not limited to: Amazon Associates (US and UK), Impact, Partnerize, CJ Affiliate, Awin, ShareASale, the Gumroad Affiliate Program, and various direct affiliate arrangements with brands including Artlist, Motion Array, Storyblocks, Envato, Epidemic Sound, Musicbed, MasterClass, Skillshare, B&H Photo, Adorama, CVP, Notion, Descript, Canva and others.

Our editorial policy

We only recommend products and services we genuinely believe in and would use ourselves. We are not paid to write positive reviews. Our editorial opinions are our own and are never influenced by affiliate commissions. If a product doesn't meet our standards, we'll say so — or we simply won't cover it.

Own products

The Production Shelf also sells our own digital products (pitch deck templates, budget spreadsheets, LUTs, and more) through Payhip and Gumroad. 100% of the revenue from our own products goes to The Production Shelf.

Sponsored content

Any content that is sponsored or paid for by a third party will be clearly labelled as "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership." We hold sponsored content to the same editorial standards as the rest of the site and reserve the right to decline any sponsorship that conflicts with our audience's interests.
